Norte – perfect breakfast in Barcelona

Norte Restaurante Barcelona

Norte is one of my favorite restaurants in Barcelona, for breakfast in specific. Although in Spain breakfast is not like I’m used to in Holland; just crab a quick coffee and croissant and actually take your time to eat around eleven (almuerzo), I can’t start my day without a good breakfast. I take my time to drink a cup of tea, fresh orange juice and eat my sandwiches, preferably outside. Lucky me, in Barcelona that’s possible most of the year.
This summer I’ve discovered my favorite breakfast spot; Norte. Open since May 2011, and since I’ve discovered it this summer, it’s always busy!

Tasty blessings

Norte services typical Spanish dishes, based on family history and fresh (organic/biologic) ingredients. I’m a big fan of the watermelon juice, the salmon sandwich and the fresh cakes. Tasty, mostly healthy blessings. Norte isn’t only a place where they serve food made with love, they serve it with love as well and the place looks amazing. All white (it’s in my name, I love white ;)), fresh and still cozy. Most of the times I sit on the terrace outside during breakfast, and after I go inside or sit at the bar outside to read articles on my iPad (there’s free wifi) or read a Spanish magazine. I highly recommend the lunch as well, tried it once and the ‘menu del dia’ was great! Norte also serves dinner, but I haven’t tried it yet.
