De pijp highlights: de Wasserette

Every wednesday, Anne will share the finest hotspots in Amsterdam’s most upcoming area: de Pijp. The best neighbourhood to choose from a wide selection of ethnic food as well as more high-end bars and restaurants. She will help you discover your new favorites out of all the hidden treasures that de Pijp has to offer.

De Wasserette

De Wasserette, in the heart of the Pijp district, is the perfect place for brunch on Sunday morning or for breakfast at the start of your workday. They are open seven days a week, every day from 07.30 a.m. till 18.00 p.m., and they also offer take-away. The food is delicious, the Wasserette offers eggs in different styles, lovely breads, granola with fresh fruits and and other healthy goods. I love the cosy ambience, it really makes you feel comfortable and relaxed.

Good Coffee

In the Wasserette they serve Vascobelo coffee, ’the finest Belgium coffee blend’, known for it’s good quality and superior taste. They only buy coffee with a Rainforest Alliance-certification, a quality mark that guarantees that it is produced in a correct manner. The super friendly staff and their amazing barista skills make it hard for you to not enjoy your coffee.

What’s good? the delicious food and the excellent coffee
What could be better? it’s always very crowded, so when you want to make sure you have a seat, you have to come early
Extra’s: a funny fact: ‘wasserette’ means laundrette in Dutch and that’s exactly what the building used to be before it became this great lunchroom
