Louboutin’s Starlight
We already knew that the amazing shoe designer had branched out into nail polish when he unveiled Louboutin’s nail polish collection in June. Christian Louboutin expands that collection with the launch of the luxurious nail polish Starlight. Inspired by Christian’s tallest heel to date, the Ballerina Ultima, the bottle cap features a towering cap of 20.5 cm and is hand-decorated with 1500 strass crystals. Only 1000 pieces of the Starlight nail polish are set to be sold. The whimsical nail polish is available in shops and online for €545.
Claridge’s Dolce & Gabbana Christmas Tree
For the second time in a row the Italian duo have created the Christmas center piece for Claridge’s, this time inspired by their childhood memories. The 8-meter-tall Christmas tree has a woodland theme and is surrounded by squirrels, rabbits and deeds. The tree is topped with a large gold crown and decorated with 300 glass baubles that are hand-painted with international flags. The baubles are hung by delicate gold ribbons handmade by Dolce & Gabbana’s talented tailors in Milan.
New Serpenti Collection
Bvlgari’s Serpenti collection bridges the brand’s heritage with a modern design. The serpenti symbolizes wisdom, life, eternity, femininity and prosperity. The icon of Bvlgari design since the 1940 has come to life again in the form of three elegant timepieces. The enchanting timepieces are available in white or pink gold, the scales are set with sparkling marquise or diamonds and enamel. And emeralds, rubies or malachite are used to create the eyes of the snake. The new serpenti watches were presented at the most important event on the jewelry calendar, at the Biennale des Antiquaries in Paris.
Librije’s Zusje Awarded Michelin Stars
Librije’s Zusje is the sister restaurant (as the name suggests it) of restaurant De Librije in Zwolle, owned by Jonnie and Thérèse Boer. The restaurant, located on the lower ground floor of Waldorf Astoria with view of the court yard garden, serves delicious local specialties and international cuisine. The Michelin 2015 Red Guide for the Netherlands recently awarded three Dutch restaurants with stars, one of them being Librije’s Zusje. Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam is very proud of Librije’s Zusje for being awarded two prestigious Michelin Stars only seven months after the opening. Also the restaurant’s team, under the leadership of executive chef Sidney Schuttes and food & beverage manager Geralda Joziasse, is very happy with the achievement and motivated to continue their culinary adventures at Librije’s Zusje.
Max Brown Hotel Amsterdam
If you want to mingle with an interesting crowd of contemporary people (like the boy or girl next door), fashionable travelers and creatives, and discover all spots in Amsterdam most never ever heard of? Then the Max Brown Hotel in Amsterdam is the right place for you. After opening its doors this month the hotel says to be a place for real people with ambition, wanderlust and curiosity. The hotel is situated in three monumental canal houses at the corner of Amsterdam most famous canals, the Herengracht and Brouwersgracht, and only a 10-minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station and the Anne Frank House. The hotel has 34 guest rooms that come in five varieties and sizes, and claims to have the most comfortable beds guest ever slept in.
