Alexander McQueen Store in Paris
Alexander McQueen, the British luxury fashion house founded in 1992, will open its first ever standalone store in Paris this summer. The new store space will be 600 square meters and situated at 372 on Rue Saint-Honoré, featuring the brand’s new interior concept designed by Sarah Burton in collaboration with London design firm David Collins Studio. The boutique will carry the full lines of ready-to-wear by creative director Sarah Burton, accessories for men and women, alongside McQueen classics; the Heroine bag and the skull print scarves.
Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel film
On December 2nd the luxury French fashion house Chanel is going to present its annual Métiers d’Art catwalk show in Schloss Leopoldskron, near the town of Salzburg in Austria. In celebrations of this event Chanel is putting out a short film, Reincarnation, directed by Karl Lagerfeld, dedicated to the collection and inspired by the life of Gabrielle Chanel. The short film features Pharrell who plays one of the lead roles alongside Cara Delevingne. Cara Delevingne embodies Sisi, Elisabeteh of Austria and even duets with Pharrell on the original soundtrack for the film. While Pharrell plays a young lift-boy who wears a jacket which would later inspire the iconic Chanel jacket. The short film will be screened on December 1, the night before the show, in Salzburg.
First Home Fragrances Collection by Hermès
We were already familiar with the Hermes’ refreshing and delicious perfumes, but not with their new home fragrance collection, La Parfum de la Maison. The luxurious candle collection comprises five perfumes, each candle bearing its own story. The names of candles are: Fenêtre ouverte (Open Window), Des pas sur la neige (Footprints in the Snow), Temps de pluie (Wet Weather), Champ libre (Open Field) and À cheval (On Horseback). The scented interior candles are presented in sophisticated ceramic jars designed by Guillaume Bardet. The collection also includes Hermes scented-paper horses and perfumed pebbles. The new collection will be launched starting December 1sr.
Mulberry’s New Creative Director: Johnny Coca
After almost 18 months without a creative director, Mulberrry finally revealed that they have appointed a new creative director, Johnny Coca, taking the position of British designer Emma Hill. The former Celine accessories design director is fluent in four languages and “has a wealth of international luxury and fashion experience that will help bring new energy and innovation to Mulberry”,Godrey Davis (Mulberry’s chairman and CEO) added. Johnny Coca will be responsible for all of Mulberry’s collections and will begin on July 8, 2015.
Valentino Pop-up Store
The World of Valentino is the new pop-up store at Harrods, designed by renowned architect David Chipperfield, and created to celebrate the brand’s exclusive capsule collection. The creative directors Maria Grazie Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli designed a collection of women’s accessories and ready-to-wear just for Harrod’s, giving some of Valentino’s iconic designs an ultra-luxurious makeover. Aside from accessories and items from the Valentino’s Cruise 2015 collection, the creative directors also created special Christmas baubles made out of blown glass and hand-painted with colorful stripes. You will be able to shop at The World of Valentino until January 2015.
