The Pijp Highlights: Mr. Bean

Every wednesday, Anne will share the finest hotspots in Amsterdam’s most upcoming area: de Pijp. The best neighbourhood to choose from a wide selection of ethnic food as well as more high-end bars and restaurants. She will help you discover your new favorites out of all the hidden treasures that de Pijp has to offer.

Mr. Bean

Mr. Bean is located on the Ceintuurbaan in the Pijp. It’s the best place for a first stop after you leave your bed. They are open seven days a week, at weekdays from 08.30 a.m. till 6 p.m. and in the weekend 09.30 a.m. till 6 p.m. There are magazines and papers lying around, so you can drink your cup of coffee together with something good to read.

Breakfast and lunch

They serve good coffee (Lavezza), but if you’re not a die hard coffee drinker they also have delicious tea. They don’t serve soda’s, but they do serve Carpe Diem, Bionade and Vitamin Water. Gotten hungry? You can spoil yourself with a delicious breakfast or lunch as well. The food is fresh and home made and they also offer all kinds of sweets (brownies, cheesecake, muffins, etc.).

Instant office

At mr. Bean there’s a very laidback and relaxed ambiance. It’s a place where you can spend hours chatting with your friends, but it’s especially a good place to work. There’s a long wooden table where you can work. You can sit down, open your laptop and sit there the whole day. There’s free wifi and there are more than enough outlets, so it makes a perfect office.

What’s good? The prices are affordable and the staff is super friendly
