Every wednesday, Anne will share the finest hotspots in Amsterdam’s most upcoming area: de Pijp. The best neighbourhood to choose from a wide selection of ethnic food as well as more high-end bars and restaurants. She will help you discover your new favorites out of all the hidden treasures that de Pijp has to offer.
Le Pain Quotidien
This week in The Pijp Highlights: Le Pain Quotidien. A perfect, quiet place for breakfast or lunch.
This international chain of bakeries has many venues in the world, especially in California, but also one in the Pijp area in Amsterdam. They are open seven days a week from 08.00 a.m. till 06.00 p.m. The staff is very friendly, what doesn’t always happen in Amsterdam. If you’re looking for a charming place to meet a friend for a cappuccino, hang out with your loved ones or quietly read the newspaper: this is it.
Bread
At le Pain Quotidien they still bake their bread the way it should be, creating a delicious brown loaf with a firm crust. Order an amazing French breakfast with this delicious bread and phenomenal eggs with a coffee on the side or try the homemade chocolate spread (it’s divine!). All breads, croissants and pastries are freshly baked and the chefs offer a huge choice of small and bigger dishes and cakes.
What’s good? The friendly staff and the delicious breads
Bonus: They offer good gluten free options as well.
